The concept of this photoshoot, inspired by hyperreality and Stanley Kubriks’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, is entitled Star Child. The concept tells the story of our star child on his journey to enlightenment ending in a hyperreality. Referencing the ending of the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey the films shows our characters enlightenment via symbiotics such as lighting and costumes. The french styling references the French Enlightenment period, which is also referenced at the end of the film. Poses also symbolize man and god in a complex relationship, pre and post enlightenment. Overall, we see the journey of the star chid reaching enlightenment.
